Cecily was lucky to grow up in a family that valued physical activity and was already dancing, swimming, skating, skiing and playing soccer by age 5! She went on to play varsity soccer at Queen’s University where she captained the team and was named the Female Student-Athlete of the Year. Her career highlight was her selection to the Canadian student national team that competed at the World University Games in Daegu, South Korea.
Cecily’s background includes a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education and a Master’s in Sport Management. She has coached soccer for 15 years including four years at the intercollegiate level. Cecily now GROOVES the varsity women’s soccer team at the University of Toronto – a blissful marriage of her love for sport and dance!
Cecily truly believes in the power of the Groove Method to inspire active communities and her personal goal is to be a positive role model for all the perfectly “imperfect” and unique people out there! When she’s not playing beach volleyball, tennis, or attempting to “thread the needle” in the middle of a dance circle, Cecily works full-time as a Project Consultant with the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion.
