GROOVE with KIDS COURSE

This course is available to anyone who has already taken The GROOVE Method Training Course and now wants to work with children. The course will include a comprehensive section on fundamental movement skills, developmental phases, physical literacy and other children's fitness information. The second section of the course will focus on the development of skills to manage a safe space for children ages 6 to 14 to dance and be motivated to move their own unique way. Participants will have an opportunity to develop their skills during practical learning and teaching sessions with groups of children of various age ranges.

In order to complete course requirements instructors must attend the two-day training course and complete a practical component with groups of children in their community.

*Pre-requisite: Completion of a GROOVE Method Training Course (2 day weekend)

The GROOVE Method Course for School Teachers, presented by The GROOVE Method Institute

Two-day weekend course on The GROOVE Method - a revolutionary approach to teaching movement and dance to students. The focus of The GROOVE Method is on simplicity, creativity and a student-centered philosophy. Teachers will learn learn age-appropriate movements, get song ideas and playlists for Grades 1-Grade 12 and develop the skills on how to teach dance and movement so that everyBODY feels motivated to DANCE their own unique way! This workshop is taught by certified teachers and includes curriculum links to Health and Physical Education and Dance curricula. 

*Pre-requisite: Must be a school teacher to attend this course (have a degree in Education or Child Development)

School Teacher Workshops: Introduction to GROOVE with KIDS

45 min-1.5hr workshops for school teachers to experience a GROOVE with KIDS demo class and go through introductory learning activities on The GROOVE Method and how it can be applied in a school-based setting. This is a complementary workshop to the GROOVIN' with KIDS Resource.
