July 2, 2011 - Toronto, ON, Canada
Melanie G and a team of groovers co-ordinated a spontaneous, no-rehearsal FLASH DANCE MOB in as part of PRIDE Toronto.
The team led a crowd of over 1,500 strangers in a GROOVE warm-up (see video above) where everyBODY learned 4 simple moves and were encouraged to dance it their way. People joined in gradually as the excitement grew for the following song: Born This Way by Lady Gaga, where everyone was invited to be part of the DANCE MOB rather than a spectator.
With a few simple cues from the team on stage, the crowd danced along to the well-known song by the ultimate diva of individuality, adding their own flare and poses throughout the unified movements. Following a few reps of 'double rainbows', the grand finale had everyone posing in a different and unique position while adding their own 'personality and attitude' to celebrate each person's uniqueness.

The DANCE MOB was a huge success and further emphasized that when you simplify movement so that everyBODY can be successful, more people can experience the benefits of getting active, doing something that is ridiculously fun and building a healthier and happier community simply by DANCING for the HEALTH of it!
The mob was organized in collaboration with PRIDE Toronto to promote the FREE (outdoor) GROOVE classes at The 519 Community Centre Green Space (519 Church Street, Toronto) being offered by Melanie G on July 16th/July 30th/Aug 6th and Aug 27th.
